23rd November 2023 - The Department of Physics organized an enriching activity trip for students, featuring a visit to the Center for Advanced Studies in Physics (CASP), Government College University, Lahore. This educational excursion aimed to familiarize students with cutting-edge research facilities, including the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM), Nd: YAG Laser, and Pelletron Accelerator. At the same time students learned about their importance uses in the field of experimental physics, especially in Laser, Material Science, and Condensed Matter Physics. The trip provided students with hands-on experience and an in-depth understanding of these sophisticated instruments, fostering their knowledge and skills in advanced scientific methodologies. Beyond educational exploration, the primary objective of the visit was to establish a strong collaboration and bridge academic ties between the Department of Physics and CASP representatives. The interaction aimed at facilitating academic exchanges and leveraging the research facilities available at both institutions, paving the way for collaborative endeavors in scientific exploration and innovation. This initiative not only enhanced the students' academic exposure but also laid the foundation for long-term partnerships in the realm of physics research.
