The Department of Physics, UMT, organized a guest lecture titled "Climate Change and Flood Vulnerability in Pakistan: Causes, Consequences, and Pathway to Resilience", delivered by Dr. Tasawar Khanam, Assistant Professor, University of Chakwal.

The lecture highlighted Pakistan's high vulnerability to climate change, with increasing floods becoming more frequent and severe. The speaker explored the key causes, wide-ranging consequences, and practical pathways to building resilience, emphasizing that understanding these challenges and adopting sustainable solutions can help pave the way toward a safer and more resilient future. The session provided participants with valuable insights into climate change impacts, flood risks, and effective strategies for resilience and sustainable development, equipping attendees with practical knowledge to address one of Pakistan's most pressing environmental challenges.  Special thanks and shoutout appreciation to Assistant Professor Dr. Shamsa Kanwal and Ms. Hira Yaseen for organzing the lecture.
