The Department of Physics, School of Science, organized a guest lecture on “Mitigating Climate Change: The Role of Carbon Capture and Storage in the Energy Transition of the 21st Century” on October 22, 2025, at 1C-16 (Main Building), UMT.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Sayyed Rehan Naqvi, an Energy Scientist, who discussed the fundamentals of climate science, the rationale behind low-carbon energy transitions, and the applications of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) as a practical approach to achieving net-zero emissions.
The talk provided participants with a comprehensive overview of CCS technologies and their role in addressing global climate challenges, aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 13: Climate Action and SDG 15: Life on Land).
Finally, a token of appreciation was presented by Associate Dean, School of Scienc,e Prof. Dr. Muhammad Imran Jamil and Physics Chairperson, Dr. Tanvir Hussain to Dr. Sayyed Rehan Naqv for expressing gratitude and appreciation in delivering the talk at UMT.
