The Department of Physics organized the Industrial visit tour to NewAge Cables on 15th May 2024. Representatives comprised of physics faculty members including Dr. Sidra Khalid, Dr. Qayyum Zafar, Dr. Qurat-ul-Ain, Dr. Muhammad Tahir, Dr. Tanvir Hussain and Ms. Sidra Ashraf accompanied by undergraduate and graduate Physics students. Newage Cables (Private) Limited is the largest cable manufacturer of Pakistan. The purpose of this visit is to give the students exposure to learn about the power transmission and data networking.
During the visit, students were provided with a comprehensive overview of the manufacturing processes involved in the production of various types of cables, including power cables, data cables, and specialty cables. The tour included demonstrations of the advanced technologies and machinery used in the cable production process, highlighting the application of theoretical physics principles in real-world industrial settings.
Additionally, students had the opportunity to interact with engineers and technical experts at NewAge Cables, gaining insights into the challenges and innovations in the field of cable manufacturing. This experience allowed the students to connect their academic knowledge with practical industry applications, fostering a deeper understanding of the material they study in the classroom.
Overall, the visit to NewAge Cables not only enhanced the students' practical knowledge but also inspired them to consider future career opportunities in the cable manufacturing industry and related fields.
