Industrial visit to Cotton Web limited
Tuesday, May 30, 2023The Department of Physics successfully conducted an official industrial tour visit to Cotton Web Limited on Tuesday, 30th May 2023. The officials visit from physics department consisted of faculty, final year undergraduate and postgraduate physics students. Under the guidance of the officials of the Cotton Web, the physics team visited power production and garments manufacture sites. In this visit the physics team were educated about the process regarding the production of the power by coal and oil and its uses in production of garments that are eventually export to apparel industries around the world. The great brief talk by general manager provided valuable insight about the current issues of the energy reliance towards non-renewable e sources and the challenges company are facing shift towards biomass energy production in order to reduce the pollution emission. The Chairperson of the Physics Department and the physics faculty are extremely grateful and thankful to the Cotton Web officials in taking out invaluable time to provide the tour and educating the physics team especially students about the garments production.
