Dr. Muhammad Akram currently working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Life Sciences at University of Management and Technology, Lahore (UMT), Pakistan, since February 07, 2022. He earned his Ph.D. degree from Beijing Institute of Technology, China, in 2021, in Chemical Engineering and Technology (Biochemistry) while working in the field of metabolic engineering and synthetic biology titled "Metabolic Engineering of Yarrowia lipolytica for the production of liquiritigenin". He was awarded the "Excellent student award" for the academic year 2019-2020 during his Ph.D. studies. He also worked in the several research positions, including as a Research Assistant in an industrial biochemistry lab (2013-2014), a Senior Research Associate in a cancer genetics lab (2007-2009 and 2012-2013), and a microbiology lab (2009-2012). He won different awards and research funding from different organization. He published nineteen (19) research papers in peer-reviewed international journals.
