Dr. Jamil Anwar got his M.Sc. in Chemistry, with distinction, from University of the Punjab, Lahore and was taken on the faculty of Institute of Chemistry in 1973. He proceeded to Aberdeen University, Scotland, in 1979 and completed his Ph.D. in 1982. In 1989 he proceeded to University of Florida, USA, for his post-doctoral research. He became full professor in 1995 and Director of the Institute in 2002 and after couple of years he was appointed Dean, Faculty of Science of the Punjab University. In 2008, he occupied the chair of Pro-Vice Chancellor till his retirement in 2011. After retiring from Punjab University, he was appointed as the founder Vice Chancellor of Lahore Garrison University, Lahore. He served COMSATS University, Lahore campus as Advisor for a couple of years and then he joined UMT, Lahore in 2019. Presently he is Professor Emeritus in University of Punjab as well as working as Distinguished Professor at UMT, Lahore.
